Art.
Since childhood I have loved mysteries, riddles, aphorisms and fairy tales: things that hold depth and carry meaning.
My paintings are a journey, an exploration, a provocation for me and for the viewer, a chance to widen habits of perception, a way of tuning attention to one’s own perception.
The process of making a painting is improvisation, and it is of central importance.
There has always been, and still is, something hidden and irrational. It can be called the background, the space.
I invite the viewer into a game with attention: engaging with the space of the painting as a chance to perceive something else, or to perceive in a different way, in order to develop sensitivity.
